The tempmate.®-RF’s data transmission technology has been optimised to ensure easy integration and high levels of efficiency. Radio transmission occurs on a frequency that doesn’t require a licence or authorisation from national telecommunications authorities, and which is therefore also free of charge. The frequency used is the ISM (Industrial, scientific and medical) band. These frequencies are used in a wide variety of applications where criteria such as wireless range or low power consumption are decisive. These include household technology, security, remote reading of meters, toys, weather stations…
The frequency used, 868MHz in Europe, enables large ranges to be achieved with short antennas:
- In free field and with ¼ antenna (just 8.6cm), up to 800m.
- Transfer through reinforced concrete walls is possible.
- Transfer is not affected by the human body, as is the case with Wi-Fi or Bluetooth technologies.
- Disruption is infrequent, as this frequency is only used for industrial, scientific or medicinal applications.
