What time is shown for the analysis?

The tempmate.®-S1 data loggers have an integrated real-time clock (RTC). This is set to GMT±0 before leaving the factory, and is therefore used for the tempmate.®-S1’s PDF analysis. The starting time is therefore documented with to-the-second accuracy, and the stop time always corresponds to the last measurement interval when it was stopped.

Will the temperature also be monitored between the measurement intervals?

The temperature will also be recorded between the measurement intervals, and in each case, an average value will be determined. In the event of a significant temperature fluctuation of ±2°C, this will be recorded accordingly.

Is the PDF report protected against manipulation?

Just as is the case with other electronic documents, it is possible to manipulate PDF files. However, even after the data has been analysed, the original data remains stored on the tempmate.®-S1 logger, so that it can always be downloaded again and compared to the questionable PDF report. Therefore, it is important that the loggers are saved until any such queries have been completely clarified.

Why can’t I open the PDF report?

You need Adobe Acrobat, version 9.0 or above, to be able to open the PDF. The latest respective version can be downloaded here: www.get.adobe.com/reader

Is it possible to analyse tempmate.®-S1 loggers with software and to export the data?

The tempmate.®-S1 is optionally compatible with the tempbase.®-D software. This software can manage all the measurement data and export it as a PDF or CSV file. The tempbase.®-D software is available as a free download, either here or in the software download box.

What is the loggers’ service life/storage life?

From leaving the factory, each logger with an ideal storage conditions (+15°C to +23°C / 45% to 75% rF) has a life of at least 1 year, maximum 24 months. The respective best before date is printed on the reverse of the logger and should always be kept in consideration.

How accurate is the built-in real-time clock (RTC)?

The real-time clock runs from when it was produced. Due to technical factors, there may be a deviation of ±2 minutes after 5 months/±4 minutes after 10 months.

Are tempmate.®-S1 loggers IATA compatible, meaning they can be used in aeroplanes?

Yes, to the latest IATA Guidelines, our tempmate.®-S1 Single-Use data loggers does not need to be declared.

If the tempmate.®-M1 data loggers are however used with the optional tempbase.®-D software, the software converts the reports to the system time set locally on the computer.

How long does the battery last?

In continuous operation, each battery lasts for about half a year. Battery life depends on the measurement interval and also on storage and usage conditions. The battery can be replaced by the customer.

Does the indicator have a memory function?

The tempmate.®-i1 stores the extreme values (the highest and lowest temperatures). In the event that the upper or lower temperature thresholds are breached, an alert is triggered.

Can I generate a PDF report?

The indicator provides you with a status report using only the built-in LED indicators. There is no readout function for the PC.

Can I use it in the same way as the tempmate.®-S1 data logger?

The technical elements are similar, but for cost reasons, its functionality is restricted. If you don’t require a detailed PDF report, the indicator can also be used as a standalone solution. It can also be used in conjunction with the tempmate.®-S1 data logger, in order to provide various PDF reports on different aspects of your delivery.

What’s the best before date?

The BBD date is 4 years in the future!

How long can the tempmate.®i1 indicator run for?

Its maximum life is 180 days.

How can I recognise which model I have?

The individual tempmate.®-Bx mini data loggers all look absolutely identical. However, the codes engraved on the underside will help you clearly identify the different loggers. On the bottom, you will see the code DS19xxx, where xxx is as follows: 21G = tempmate.®-B1, 22L = tempmate.®-B2, 22T = tempmate.®-B3, 23 = tempmate.®-B4 and 22E = tempmate.®-B5

How can I activate lower sampling rates?

This option needs to be activated. In the TempIT software, go to Configuration > Device > SL5x and remove the checkmark next to: ‘Suppress rapid sampling rate’ > and confirm with the password.

How can the battery life be optimised?

If the logger will not be used for a longer period of time, you should set the sampling rate to 23 hours for the duration of this period. With this setting, the least amount of power is required, which increases the logger’s service life significantly.

Can the mini data loggers be used in a vacuum environment?

At the moment, there are no specifications that clearly verify suitability for vacuums. However, various customers use the devices in vacuum environments. If doing so, ensure that the vacuum is not built up suddenly, but rather evacuated evenly. In this way, the logger will be evacuated with its environment. Furthermore, ensure that the logger is not exposed to high humidity in the vacuum without protection, as otherwise, when venting it, moisture can diffuse into the logger. However, we suggest to all customers that they purchase a logger and test its suitability for their own application. In such circumstances, we can loan you a communication interface.
